    Closing my eyes, I take in the heat of his words on my cooled flesh.  Goose bumps rise on my skin and I shiver. 

“Let’s just get one thing straight.”  He turns me around and moves my head to look up into his eyes.  “I don’t share.”

My breath catches and I can’t help myself.  His eyes are searching for something in mine.  Reaching up, I frame his face with my hands.  Pushing up on my toes, I rest my lips on his lightly.  

“You’re crazy, you know that?”

“Crazy #for you.”  His mouth slowly lowers to mine.  He pauses, millimeters away from my lips.  The anticipation is killing me.  

“Tell me you want me.”

My voice is just a breath. “You.  Only you.”  

 

I am a mommy of two, wife to an amazing man, and full time employee. Life is crazy and busy!  I started writing again for a group of women I met who shared my love for books. They brought back the passion for writing I haven’t seen since high school. Starting this process was tedious and nerve-wracking, but my amazing ladies and my fabulous husband have inspired me to take my love for writing to the next step.

   Blood spatters from Jake’s lip.  I look up to the VIP suite where Caston and Bre are.  They are looking back at the scene in front of them in disbelief.  Knowing that there isn't anyone who can stop this but me, I move to the side of the men swinging and bravely stick my arm out between them. 

   “STOP!” I scream, not recognizing my voice. 

   Thankfully, Jake sees my arm and pauses mid-punch.  He steps back and looks me up and down as if he could devour me whole.  The heat in his eyes suddenly makes me weak in the knees.  I hold my hands out to the side and shrug my shoulders.  Tears forming in my eyes.  This is not how I want to spend my holiday #season.

   “Fuck you, dude,” Justin sneers, “I was just doing what she wanted me to.” 

   Jake wipes the blood from his nose.  “She’s mine,” he growls.

   I smack him on the chest hard, making my hand hurt.  “I am not yours, Jake.”

   With one swoop, I’m swung over his shoulder and being carried 

off the dance floor.

    “Merry Christmas everyone!  How are we feeling tonight?” Caston pauses for the cheers to go down.  “Good.  Tonight is for you.  This year has been a whirlwind at Black Hollywood.  We’ve had ups and downs, we have new employees, we have new locations, and most of all we have closed the gap to that other magazine and projections show we will pass them up next year!”

    More cheers go through the crowd.  I find myself smiling like a fool watching him work his magic on the stage.  “But most of all,” he continues, “I found #the love of my life.”  A spotlight flashes on me and I have to cover my face, blinded and embarrassed, but somehow I manage a wave.  “And unless you’ve been living under a rock you know that I knocked her up and we’re having a baby.” 

   My mouth drops open in shock that he would announce that to the entire company.  The whoops and cheers are deafening from the news.  I shake my head and turn to the side smoothing my little red dress down my stomach revealing the little baby bump.  The cheers rise again.
